DCMF workshop for English-language journalists
The Doha Centre for Media Freedom will hold a training workshop for journalists on searching the internet from September 12 to 14.
Mohammed Yahia, an Egyptian journalist, will fly in to lead the workshop which aims to enhance the skills of reporters in Doha who write and broadcast in English.
Yahia, the editor of Nature Middle East, led the same workshop organised by the centre in July for those working in the Arabic press.
Online research, assessing the reliability of a source, identifying legal issues and how to share information are some of the objectives in the course.
Reporters from The Peninsula, Gulf Times and Qatar Tribune, Doha's three major English-language dailies, are due to attend. Staff from Qatar News Agency, Radio Qatar, QF Radio, Islam Web and aljazeera.net will also particpate.
