Doha Centre for Media Freedom Covers State's Sports Day
Doha Centre for Media Freedom is set to participate in this year’s Sports Day activities by covering various events taking place to mark the occasion.
The centre will be supporting a number of young journalists shooting a short film to highlight the importance of sports in society.
Under DCMF’s supervision, a team of junior reporters will both participate in sports activities, and also cover festivities and interview various representatives of institutions and organisations taking part.
Qatar National Sports Day falls on the second Tuesday of each February, and was introduced by the Emir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle and emphasise the importance of sports in the local and international community.
The day also supports Qatar’s National Vision 2030, contributing towards the growth of a healthy society through participation in various activities.
This year, Sports Day celebrations will bring together citizens as well as expatriates of different ages, and will be covered by a number of media organisations who will share the thoughts and experiences of those involved.
