A Palestinian journalist on Friday was shot and injured in the head with a rubber-coated steel bullet as Israeli forces suppressed a peaceful protest against the Israeli occupation and settlements in the village of Kafr Qadoum in the occupied West Bank near Qalqiliya, according to news reports.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli soldiers fired a rubber bullet towards Ahmad Shawer, a reporter for Palestine TV, striking him in the forehead causing a serious head injury.
Coordinator of public resistance, Murad Shteiwi told the media that Israeli forces chased protesters during the march while shooting live and rubber bullets.
Shawer was taken to a hospital in Qalqilia where he received medical treatment.
