French-speaking international television TV5Monde and the French news channel France 24 protested Tuesday against the withdrawal of the accreditation of their correspondent in Togo, a measure that prevents her from working.

According to the two channels, "the Togolese authorities withdrew the accreditation of journalist

Emmanuelle Sodji, correspondent of  “Tv5 Monde”  and “France 24” in Togo, after objecting to her recent coverage of the demonstrations in Lomé.”

"The TV5 Monde and France 24 administrations are very surprised and do not understand the decision which they condemn, especially in terms of the professional work of the correspondent and her balanced coverage of the events," said the channels in a statement, noting that they had filed a joint request to the Ministry of Information of Togo to restore the accreditation of their correspondent.
